This grant supports the dissertation research project of Jose Cano in examining the Sensorimotor Gating (SG) mechanism, which characterizes the potential role of amygdala input to the core of the SG pathway. Results from this project will fill a critical knowledge gap of attention processes in patients diagnosed with schizophrenia and anxiety, and offer novel and potential therapeutic targets.
