Dr. Jose Hurtado's duties will focus on requirements for in situ observations for the Artemis III lunar mission, and he will work with Goal Leads and the Training and Operations Sub-team to ensure image collection strategies, field observations, and other in-situ activities are optimized for meeting science objectives within overall mission constraints. During the Artemis III mission, he will be responsible for real-time tracking of in-situ observations needed to accomplish science requirements. He will also contribute to the preliminary science analysis for the Mission and Science Reports to be published after the Artemis III mission is complete. Dr. Hurtado will mentor and support undergraduate and graduate students who will be funded to participate in these tasks.
