This project expands and improves upon the guanidinate framework, which is a new organic chemistry architecture and scaffold to support metals and guide their reactivity. Guanidinates are highly versatile, easily manipulated, and relatively straightforward to synthesize. It is believed that, by making a small modification to the guanidinate skeleton, access to new metal chemistry can be gained. This project outlines a strategy to utilize "super bulky" guanidinate ligands for the isolation of new and interesting metal complexes.
