This Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) project via NSF involves commercial development of a sensor for measuring the hardness of product water from a water softener. The signal from the sensor triggers the regeneration cycle of the softener. Dr. Walker will develop cation-exchange fibers for testing and use in the hardness sensor.
