Strengthening the competitiveness of Texas manufacturing is the focus of this project through the work of the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC). Manufacturing professionals deliver training, technical assistance, and implementation support for best business practices, with a particular focus on small and mid-sized manufacturers across the state. Services address lean manufacturing and lean office principles, technology solutions, strategic management, quality systems, environmental practices, and safety. Affordable statewide access ensures that smaller firms and manufacturers in rural areas receive support that would otherwise be unavailable. Leveraged partner funding and customer fees, combined with federal support, sustain a public–private partnership that produces measurable benefits for participating firms and the Texas economy. Emphasis on continuous improvement and supplier development strengthens relationships between large and small manufacturers, helping keep investment and economic value circulating within the state of Texas.
