UTEP will work with ARRB Systems, TTI and TxDOT to establish acceptable accuracy and repeatability criteria for the Traffic Speed Deflectometer (TSD). UTEP will carry out point specific sensor measurements to compare the deflections measured by the geophones with the deflections reported by the TSD. A camera will be part of the measurement system to record the accurate path of the TSD loading wheels over the instrumentation. The team will perform validation checks of the TSD data with the goal of certifying that the measured TSD deflections are reasonable and data collection can proceed.
