Translating Christ argues female visionaries developed new forms of authorship, reading, and devotion in the Middle Ages. Six chapters trace visionary translation across hagiography, vernacular theology, and devotional texts in Latin, Dutch, French, and English, showing new connections between divine authority and female agency in medieval literature and culture.
