With help from a grant from Humanities Texas, UTEP’s Center for History Teaching and Learning is offered local area teachers a lesson plan contest on the U.S. War with Mexico. The event culminated in a one-day symposium that included a lecture by Dr. Sam Haynes from the University of Texas at Arlington and an awards ceremony.
