Funding for this project will be used for the analysis of lytic antibodies against T. cruzi in non-human primates serum samples provided by the Texas Biomedical Research Institute. Previous and current studies of Dr. Almeida’s group and of others have shown that tGPI-mucin/CL-ELISA can accurately diagnose Chagas disease and follow-up the cure in benznidazole-treated Chagasic patients.
