The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) carries out a training project supported by the U.S. Department of Education’s Rehabilitation Long-Term Training Program in Rehabilitation Counseling (84.129B). The project is designed to increase the number of vocational rehabilitation counselors serving Southwest Texas and New Mexico. Structured as a scholarship-for-service training award, the project provides financial support and professional preparation for participants pursuing careers in vocational rehabilitation counseling. The focus is on building workforce capacity in regions with high demand for qualified counselors.
